The dosing capsule is a small food-grade stainless steel container with a removable lid. It holds one measured dose of ground herbs, around 0.2 g. A small indent in the lid makes it easy to open. The capsule drops into the metal chamber in place of loose material. Fine mesh at the top and bottom lets hot air pass straight through the herbs.
You fill the capsule at home, close the lid and carry it in your pocket until you need it. A capsule filled in advance means no grinder, no scraping and no spilled herbs when you are out. The herbs never touch the chamber walls either, so you need to clean the chamber far less often. Stainless steel copes with hundreds of heat cycles, so the same capsule keeps working season after season. A quick rinse under warm water gets it clean and ready to refill.
