Who is the XLux Roffu by XVape for?
The XLux Roffu launched XLUX, the premium line from XVape, the Californian brand behind the XMax range. It was built for people who chase flavour, and it is consistently rated among the best-value convection portables. The stock we carry is the current 2026 revision.
The chamber is small, which makes the Roffu a precise tool for small doses. It suits quiet solo sessions more than passing a large load around a group. Set it near 195°C, draw slowly, and you will taste why this vape is praised for its flavour.
A Palm-Sized Aluminium Body
The Roffu measures 4.0 × 2.5 × 11.5 cm and weighs 166 g. The body is anodised aluminium with a matte finish, and the whole top section lifts off on strong magnets. It sits fully in your palm and slips into a jacket pocket.
Three buttons sit on the side of the body, above the USB-C port at the base. The colour screen takes up most of the front face, so temperature, mode and battery level are readable at a glance.
Aluminium carries heat, so the body warms up after two or three back-to-back sessions. A silicone cover (sold separately) is the usual way to solve this, and it also improves grip.
Full Convection Heating
The heating element sits below the chamber, so your herbs never touch a hot surface. The heat travels in the air itself, the way a warm breeze dries laundry on a line. Material only cooks while you actually draw, which makes the Roffu efficient with small loads.
From cold the Roffu is ready in about 20 seconds, quicker on reheats and quicker again with the steel chamber. That is roughly the time it takes to grind and load.
Convection asks for a different technique to conduction. Slow, steady draws of five to fifteen seconds work best, and packing the herbs loosely matters more than filling the chamber completely.
Two Chambers, Two Different Flavour Profiles
The Roffu takes two different chamber materials, which is unusual at this price. The quartz glass chamber comes fitted from the factory. Quartz adds no taste of its own, so it gives the purest, most terpene-forward flavour, and it pairs naturally with on-demand mode.
The stainless steel chamber is the other half of the system. Steel heats faster, holds temperature longer and extracts more evenly across the load, and it adds a slight conduction element. It is also the chamber to use with dosing capsules.
Swapping takes a moment. Pull one chamber out, drop the other in; it only seats one way. The metal chamber is sold separately, since our kit ships with the quartz chamber only, and a replacement quartz glass chamber is available in case the glass chamber ever gets dropped and breaks.
Cool Vapour from a Zirconia Spiral
Inside the magnetic top sits a zirconia ceramic helix. Vapour leaves the chamber, travels around and up through that spiral, then out through a polished zirconia mouthpiece tip. The spiral stretches the vapour path inside a very short body.
Zirconia conducts heat poorly, which is exactly what you want in a cooling part. The result is noticeably cooler vapour at the same temperature than many portables manage, even though the air only travels a few centimetres. The concept follows the cooling unit idea Storz & Bickel introduced on their portables.
The zirconia tip itself does get warm at the top of the temperature range, though it never gets hot enough to be uncomfortable on the lips.
Session Mode and On-Demand Mode
The Roffu is one of very few vaporizers at this price offering both heating modes. Session mode brings the chamber to your set temperature and holds it for 3 or 6 minutes, your choice, then switches off on its own.
On-demand mode heats only while you hold the button, and it runs for up to 45 seconds per press. Release the button and it cools straight away, so nothing keeps cooking between draws. This is the mode for anyone taking small doses, since a single quick draw uses very little material.
Switching between the two takes one button combination, and the Roffu remembers which mode you used last.
Temperature Down to the Degree
The range runs from 100°C to 220°C, adjustable in single-degree steps. A press of up or down moves one degree; holding scrolls quickly through the range. There are no fixed presets, so the setting is entirely yours.
Around 195°C is a sensible starting point, warm enough for a satisfying draw without harshness. Lower settings near 190°C preserve the lighter aromatic compounds and give the cleanest taste. Higher settings near 215°C extract more material from each load.
Many owners step the temperature during a session. Start high and lower the temperature as the herbs release more of their vapour, or start near 165°C and climb about 10°C every half minute across a six-minute session. Both approaches work, and because you can adjust the temperature one degree at a time, both are easy to follow.
A Colour Screen, No App Needed
The 0.96 inch colour OLED shows target temperature, current temperature, the mode, the session timer and battery level. It also counts your draws, with a running total and a graph of your last ten sessions. Three clicks of the power button opens that history.
There is no Bluetooth and no app to install, which is unusual for a vape that tracks data like this. Everything lives on the screen in front of you.
The Roffu vibrates when it reaches temperature on the first heat-up of a session. After that the display shows you the status, so keep an eye on the ring-shaped temperature indicator.
Loading the Chamber
The chamber holds roughly 0.15 to 0.25 g, depending on where the screen sits inside it. Moving that screen up or down lets you set the dose you actually want, which is handy for small sessions.
The chamber protrudes from the body instead of sitting recessed. Lift the magnetic top and you can scoop herbs straight in. Grind loose and fluffy, fill to the rim, then tamp very gently with a fingertip. A compacted load blocks airflow and works against convection.
You can also load into stainless steel dosing capsules at home and drop one in when you want a session. Capsules go in with the steel chamber, and they cut cleaning work down a lot. A capsule set and a StashBox with a full-size grinder are both available as add-ons.
How to Use the XLux Roffu
Before the first session, pull out the battery insulation tab and peel the protective film off the screen. After that, a session runs like this.
- Loading: Grind loosely, lift off the magnetic top, scoop herbs into the chamber up to the rim, tamp gently, then click the top back on.
- Switching on: Five clicks of the power button. The Roffu begins heating straight away, which is why loading comes first.
- Setting up: Use up and down to set the temperature, one degree per press. Hold up and down together for two seconds to change mode, or power and up to switch session length between 3 and 6 minutes.
- Inhaling: It vibrates when it reaches temperature. Draw slowly and steadily for five to fifteen seconds. The first draw is light; vapour builds on the second and third. In on-demand mode, hold the button throughout the draw.
- Finishing: Session mode holds temperature for the full 3 or 6 minutes, then shuts off. On-demand cools the instant you release the button and powers down after a short standby. Tip the used herbs out with the pick stored in the base while the chamber is still warm.
A Battery You Can Swap Out
The Roffu runs on a single removable 3200 mAh 18650 cell. A hinged door at the base pops open, the cell drops in positive side down and clicks into place, and the screen animation confirms contact. Expect roughly 6 to 10 sessions per charge, depending on mode and temperature.
Charging happens over USB-C at the base of the body, below the side buttons, and takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. XVape advise a 5 V USB adapter and no more than 5 V / 2 A. The Roffu is designed to be charged between sessions, as it is not meant to be used while plugged in.
A second cell is the practical answer for long days, since swapping one for another takes a moment. The kit includes a USB-A to USB-C cable but no wall plug, so any standard USB-A plug or power bank you already own does the job.
You can add an Eve 35V - 3500 mAh 18650 Battery as a second cell and the Xtar X2 - Battery Charger to top up cells outside the vape. Both are sold separately.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Empty the chamber while it is still warm, using the pick stored in the base, and brush out both the chamber and the inside of the top piece. Doing this after each session keeps flavour clean and airflow open.
For a deeper clean, the magnetic top comes apart into three pieces: the zirconia tip, the zirconia helix and the aluminium housing. Those parts and the chamber take a soak in warm soapy water. Cleaning is straightforward, though there are several small parts to handle, and the chamber screen takes the most patience. Dosing capsules reduce the work considerably.
Screens, O-rings and the filters are consumables that wear over time. A cleaning set and a filter kit are available separately when the in-box brush, swabs and wipes run out.
Roffu vs ÄRiS Ultra
The ÄRiS Ultra is a mid-range convection portable from Wolkenkraft, sitting in the same price bracket as the Roffu and competing for the same flavour-focused buyers. It uses a titanium chamber, and a wider range of accessories is available for it.
The Roffu's advantage is a choice of chamber material. Quartz glass comes fitted for the cleanest taste, and a stainless steel chamber is available as an add-on for faster, more even heating. Add the zirconia cooling spiral, both session and on-demand modes, and a removable 18650, and the Roffu offers more ways to shape a session.
If you like changing how a vape behaves without buying a second one, the Roffu's two-material system is the more interesting setup.
Roffu vs XMax V4 Pro
The XMax V4 Pro is a convection portable from XVape's value-focused XMax line, aimed at buyers who want convection performance at the lowest outlay. It costs less than the Roffu and it has adjustable airflow, which the Roffu does not.
The Roffu offers better build quality and a better-designed vapour path. The anodised aluminium body feels considerably more solid, the zirconia spiral cools the vapour before it reaches your lips, and the two-chamber system lets you move between quartz glass and stainless steel.
Pick the V4 Pro if airflow control and price are your top priorities. Pick the Roffu if flavour, cool vapour and the ability to change chamber material matter more.
Recommended Accessories
Right now we offer a 25% discount on all accessories when you buy any vaporizer here at MagicVaporizers. Here is a guide to what fits the Roffu's daily routine best.
Metal Chamber: The first accessory to consider. It completes the two-chamber system, heats faster and more evenly than the glass one in the kit, and it is the chamber you need for dosing capsules.
Xtar X2 - Battery Charger: Two bays mean one cell charges outside the vape while the other works, and it saves wear on the charging port.
Eve 35V - 3500 mAh 18650 Battery: A higher-capacity cell than the one in the kit, so you can swap cells instead of stopping to charge.
Dosing Capsule Set (5-pack): Fill five at the table on a Sunday and carry a full day of measured doses. Pair them with the metal chamber.
TightVac Capsule Holder for XMax Capsules: An insert for the MiniVac that holds pre-filled dosing capsules in place, so a full day of loads travels without rattling.
TightVac MiniVac: An airtight pocket container that seals in odour, ideal for storing already-vaped herbs between sessions. The TightVac Debowler makes tipping the chamber out into it quick and clean.
Water Pipe Adapter: Connects the Roffu to a bubbler or water pipe for extra cooling and filtration.
Silicone Cover: Insulates the aluminium body during back-to-back sessions and adds grip.
MV StashBox + 8 Accessories: A lockable canvas bag that carries the vape, chambers and prepared herbs together, and it includes a full-size grinder, which the Roffu kit does not.
Magnetic USB-C Adapter: Leaves a magnetic tip in the port so the cable clicks on and off without wearing the connection.
Cleaning Set: The in-box brush, swabs and wipes are consumables, and this set covers the chamber, screens and vapour path properly once they run out.
Filter Kit: New filters keep the draw open and the taste clean once the originals have seen a few months of use.
Warranty Information
The XLux Roffu comes with a 1-year warranty on the vape and a 6-month warranty on the battery. All XLux Roffu vaporizers we sell are authentic XVape products.
