Silicon carbide balls pass heat into the air faster than any other material available for the Tempest cap. The set holds around 50 pieces at 3 mm.
That conductivity means heat moves through the ball bed with maximum intensity, giving the most intense extraction character of any ball material in the range. Cap fill weight is 2.2 g, lighter than the standard zirconia, and in daily use silicon carbide balls perform close to ruby balls, with a slightly different flavour signature.
The material is hard and stays stable through repeated heating. A retaining screen in good condition keeps the ball fill securely in place.

I use 280 of these SiC balls in my WOHW v2 SS to improve one-hit extraction. For my vaping style and perception, the flavor and performance have been further enhanced. The heat is absorbed and released faster than with the original ruby fill, no hotspots develop, and the e-liquid turns a dark brown very quickly and evenly. There's not much else to say about the balls themselves. The quality is good, and they all arrived in perfect condition. The only thing that really bothers me is that I didn't order and install these SiC balls sooner. Excellent.
