Who is the Fenix NEO for?

The Fenix NEO is the newest flagship in the Fenix range, developed together with the German brand Wolkenkraft. It is built for people who want cool, clean vapour and simple controls, and reviewers single out its cooling system and battery life.

The NEO runs on a session timer, so it suits relaxed sessions and not single puffs. Fenix market it as full convection, and in practice it works as a convection-led hybrid, which is part of why it works well with almost any grind and fill level. One chamber load of around 0.3 g is enough for two people to share.

A Compact Body with a Soft-Touch Grip

The Fenix NEO measures 5.8 × 2.8 × 10.4 cm and weighs 216 g. It fits easily in a jacket pocket or a bag.

The metal body is covered with a rubberised coating that feels soft to the touch that grips well and insulates, so the outside stays comfortable to hold after a hot session. The ceramic mouthpiece folds flat against the top when you finish, which protects the tip in a pocket.

The look is deliberately plain: one screen, a few buttons, no visible screws. A small magnetic stirring tool sits underneath the vape, held by its own magnet.

Convection Heating, Ready in Less Than a Minute

Fenix call the NEO a full convection vaporizer with a patented heating system and a fully insulated air path. Hot air is pulled up through the herbs, much like warm air from a fan heater spreading through a room.

The titanium chamber holds heat once it is up to temperature, so the NEO behaves as a convection-led hybrid in daily use. That stored heat is part of why extraction stays even across the whole load.

The NEO heats in about 25 to 30 seconds and vibrates once when it reaches your set temperature, so you do not need to watch the screen.

Cool Vapour from a Ceramic Path

The zirconia ceramic cooling system is the central engineering feature of the NEO; the whole device is designed around it. Vapour leaves the chamber, travels a winding ceramic channel inside the mouthpiece holder, then exits through a ceramic tip.

No plastic touches the vapour anywhere on that route. The long ceramic path gives the vapour a large surface area, so it cools as it travels, which is why draws stay cool even in the upper part of the temperature range.

The mouthpiece stays cool on the lips through a session and warms only slightly if you keep going at the top temperatures. The cooling channel lifts out for cleaning, so the path can be kept clear without tools.

Temperature and Timer Always Visible on the Screen

The NEO runs from 120°C to 221°C, adjustable one degree at a time. The 120°C minimum setting is new for the range, since earlier Fenix models started at 160°C, and it suits gentle herbal blends.

The 0.78 inch OLED splits into two zones: set and actual temperature on top, session timer and battery below. The screen is small but shows everything at a glance, and you can flip its orientation or switch between °C and °F.

Lower settings around 175°C preserve lighter compounds and terpenes. Higher settings near 200°C extract more material in fewer draws. Many people start at 180°C and step up in 5°C moves as the session goes on.

The session timer runs from 3 to 7 minutes and can be extended or shortened mid-session on the screen, with no restart needed. When it runs out, the NEO vibrates and switches itself off.

A Chamber Big Enough to Share

The titanium chamber measures 12 mm across and 12 mm deep, and it takes around 0.3 g of ground herbs. That covers a relaxed solo session or two people sharing one load.

Fill it to the brim and leave it loose. Pressing the herbs down chokes the airflow and gives uneven results. A medium to coarse grind works best with convection-style heating.

Dosing capsules fit the chamber as well. A pre-filled capsule drops straight in and keeps herbs off the titanium walls, so you can carry pre-filled capsules with you, ready to use. The NEO handles concentrates too, with the Fenix 2.0 concentrate capsule sold separately.

You can add a dosing capsule as an option, since none come in the box, and a TightVac MiniVac with its capsule holder keeps several loaded capsules sealed and in order.

Two Draw Styles from One Tool

The magnetic stirring tool stored under the NEO does more than stir. Slide it into the airflow hole and the draw gets moderately tighter, and a long, gentle pull works best. Take it out and the draw opens up wide and airy.

That gives you two clearly different draw characters from one small part. People who prefer an open, effortless draw can leave the tool out and still use it for stirring between draws.

Keep the tool in its magnetic seat when it is not in use, since it is small enough to go missing away from home. You can also add a stainless steel stirring tool as an extra, with a curved end that scoops used herbs out of the chamber.

Forgiving About Grind and Packing

The NEO needs very little effort from you. It copes with loose or firm packing and with damp or dry material. Fast draws and slow draws both give a steady session.

The controls stay just as straightforward: a main button plus adjustment buttons, with a vibration when the vape switches on, when it reaches temperature, and when the session ends.

How to Use the Fenix NEO

Everything is set on the vape itself, with no app and no phone pairing involved.

  1. Loading: Fold out the mouthpiece, lift off the top cap, and fill the titanium chamber to the brim with medium to coarse herbs. Leave them loose.
  2. Airflow: Keep the magnetic tool in the airflow hole for a tighter draw. Take it out for a wide, open draw.
  3. Powering on: Click the button five times. The NEO vibrates to confirm.
  4. Setting up: Hold the button for about two seconds to enter temperature adjustment, then set the temperature degree by degree. The session timer can be set anywhere between 3 and 7 minutes.
  5. Heating: Wait around 25 to 30 seconds. A vibration tells you the set temperature has been reached.
  6. Inhaling: Draw slowly and steadily. The lower half of the screen counts the session down.
  7. Adjusting: Step the temperature up by about 5°C when the flavour starts to thin out. The countdown can be extended or shortened at any point.
  8. Finishing: At the end of the timer the NEO vibrates and shuts off. Brush the used herbs out of the chamber and brush the screen while it is still warm.

A new NEO carries a slight new-material taste for the first few days of sessions. It fades as you use it.

Battery and Charging, About Once a Day

The 3000 mAh battery is built in and sealed. A full charge gives roughly 8 to 12 sessions, about 80 minutes of vaporizing, so most people charge it about as often as a phone.

Charging runs through the side-mounted USB-C port and takes around 1.5 hours from empty. Fenix state that USB-C charges the NEO up to 30% faster than the older micro-USB models in the range, and the side port stays easy to reach while the vape stands upright.

One press of the button while the NEO is switched off shows the remaining charge, which is useful before you head out for the evening.

The box holds a braided USB-C cable and no wall plug. A magnetic USB-C adapter (sold separately) lets the cable snap on and pull away cleanly, which protects the side port from daily wear.

Quick and Simple Cleaning

Brush the chamber out after each session with the included chamber brush, and give the stainless steel screen a quick brush at the same time. The screen collects resin, and a clear screen keeps the draw open and the taste neutral.

The cooling channel comes out of the mouthpiece holder for a deeper clean. Put a little isopropyl alcohol into both ends, shake, rinse and dry. The silicone ring and the small plastic clips should stay out of long alcohol soaks; a wipe or a short clean suits them.

The top assembly goes back together by hand. The cooling unit seats at about a 45 degree angle, lined up with the small notch.

The seal ring with screen wears out with use, which is why one spare comes in the box. A second full mouthpiece set keeps one clean cooling path in use while the other dries.

Fenix NEO vs Wolkenkraft FX Mini Ultra

The Wolkenkraft FX Mini Ultra is a compact convection portable from Wolkenkraft, the German brand the NEO's cooling system was developed with. It carries a five-year warranty and a wider range of accessories.

In response, the NEO offers a full ceramic path that keeps the vapour cool, from the maze inside the mouthpiece holder to the ceramic tip. It adds a titanium chamber, a 3000 mAh battery good for about 80 minutes of use, and a dual-zone screen showing set and actual temperature at once.

If cool vapour and on-screen control matter most to you, the NEO is the better choice. The FX Mini Ultra makes more sense when long warranty cover is your first concern.

Fenix NEO vs XMax V4 Pro

The XMax V4 Pro is a budget-friendly portable built around a user-replaceable battery, with on-demand style heating, an adjustable airflow ring and a lower price.

The NEO's advantage is vapour that stays cool on the throat, thanks to the ceramic cooling path and ceramic tip. Its sealed 3000 mAh battery covers about 8 to 12 sessions per charge, so there are no spare cells to carry. The OLED shows set temperature, actual temperature, timer and battery together.

Choose the V4 Pro if you mostly take quick single puffs. Choose the NEO for longer sessions you can leave running, with cool vapour and all the information on screen.

Recommended Accessories

Right now we offer a 25% discount on all accessories when you buy any vaporizer here at MagicVaporizers. The NEO arrives with a functional kit, so here is a guide to what is worth adding.

Magnetic USB-C Adapter: Stays in the side port while the cable connects magnetically, so daily charging stops wearing the port itself.

MV StashBox + 8 Accessories: A lockable carry bag with a grinder, tray and smell-proof bags, with easy room for the NEO and its accessories.

Dosing Capsule for Herbs: Fill capsules at home and swap them during the day without carrying loose herbs.

TightVac MiniVac: An airtight, odour-tight pocket container for pre-ground herbs and loaded capsules, and it also stores already-vaped herb between sessions.

TightVac Capsule Holder for Large Capsules: A four-column insert for the MiniVac that keeps loaded capsules upright, numbered and organised, with a side channel for loose herbs and tools.

TightVac Debowler: Holds a toothpick upright in the MiniVac lid, so you can knock the used load straight into the container below for later use.

Stainless Steel Stirring Tool: The curved end scoops used herbs out of the titanium chamber and stirs the load mid-session for even extraction.

Full Mouthpiece Set: A complete second cooling path, so one can dry after a deep clean while the other stays in use.

Seal Ring with Screen: The ring and screen do the filtering work every session, and a clean one keeps the airflow open and the taste clean.
