Who is the Puffco Peak for?
The Puffco Peak is the streamlined electronic dab rig in Puffco's Peak family, sitting below the Peak Pro 3DXL. It brings the same 360° ceramic chamber into a smaller, simpler body, and it is consistently rated among the best eRigs at its price.
The Peak works with concentrates only, so wax, rosin and live resin are the only materials it handles. It does not vaporise dry herbs. It also stands too tall for a pocket, and in exchange for that size you get built-in water filtration and a battery that lasts a weekend away.
A Compact Base You Can Hold in One Hand
The Peak stands just over 17 cm tall, measures about 7.5 cm across and weighs around 250 g. That makes it the smallest and lightest Peak so far. The grip area is the width of two or three fingers, so one-handed use feels natural.
A soft matte finish covers the body and stays cool in the hand while the chamber works. A hidden LED band wraps the back of the base and fades towards the front, showing the selected temperature and the battery level. In bright daylight the glow can be hard to read.
No carrying case comes in the box. The foam-lined retail box closes with magnetic latches and works well for storage and short trips.
The 3D Chamber Heats from Every Side
The 3D Chamber is a ceramic cup with heating elements running through its walls. Conventional dab chambers heat only from the floor. Picture a fire pit ringed with hot stones: warmth arrives from every direction at once.
You place concentrate on the bottom surface of the chamber. As it melts and spreads during the draw, the heated walls vaporise material that climbs onto them. Chambers that heat only from the bottom tend to scorch that material, which reduces flavour.
A sensor in the chamber feeds a microprocessor that adjusts power live through the cycle. The set temperature holds steady from the first second to the last, so every session delivers the same result as the last.
Water Filtration for Smooth, Open Draws
The borosilicate glass top holds the water and forms the whole vapour path above the chamber. Two horizontal percolation slits do the filtering, and the wide mouthpiece opening keeps the draw airy and easy. The joint is shared across the Peak family, so a large range of first-party and aftermarket glass fits.
You fill the glass through the mouthpiece with the glass lifted off the base. A marked fill line shows the level, and water just above the slits is plenty. Keeping the level low protects the electronics underneath.
The Joystick Cap sits on top of the chamber on a tether, so it will not go missing. Swivelling it during the draw steers air into the corners of the chamber and pushes melted concentrate onto the heated walls.
The full-size glass is tall and comparatively thin, so the travel glass (sold separately) is worth adding if the Peak moves around with you.
Four Temperature Settings, Controlled by a Single Button
A single click cycles the four presets, each with its own colour: Blue at 254°C, Green at 266°C, Red at 277°C and White at 310°C. Puffco names the hottest setting Peak, after the vape itself. Green is the usual starting point.
Lower settings preserve delicate terpenes and suit fine extracts. The top setting at 310°C extracts more of the load within a single cycle, and it can feel harsh at the back of the throat even with water in the glass.
Boost Mode adds about 15 seconds and roughly 10°C when you double-click again at temperature. Five clicks starts Intensity Mode, a stronger cycle designed for dry dabs with no water in the glass.
There is no app and no Bluetooth pairing. The four presets cannot be edited, and every function sits on the single button, which makes the Peak easy to pass around at a gathering.
Loading the Chamber
The chamber is built around small to medium dabs. You place concentrate on the bottom surface with the included metal loading tool, then refit the joystick cap. Small loads still give a full session.
The chamber unscrews from the base by hand for cleaning or replacement. It uses threading specific to the Peak, so chambers from other Puffco models do not fit it.
Ceramic wears with regular heat cycles, which makes a second 3D Chamber (sold separately) worth keeping. You can also add the Hot Knife, a heated loading tool that melts sticky extracts off the tip.
How to Use the Puffco Peak
The whole session runs from one button on the front and the joystick cap on top.
- Filling: Pull the glass gently off the base and fill it through the mouthpiece to just above the percolation slits, then press it back into place.
- Loading: Lift off the joystick cap, place your concentrate onto the bottom surface of the chamber with the loading tool, and refit the cap.
- Powering on: Press and hold the button for three seconds. A short vibration confirms it.
- Choosing a temperature: Single-click to move through Blue, Green, Red and White.
- Heating: Double-click to start. The light pulses, and about 25 seconds later the Peak flashes and vibrates twice.
- Inhaling: Draw slowly and gently while swivelling the joystick cap to steer air into the chamber corners. Strong inhales can splash concentrate.
- Boosting: Double-click again once it is at temperature to add roughly 15 seconds and about 10°C.
- Finishing: The heat cycle ends on its own after about 45 seconds. Hold the button for three seconds to switch off, swab the warm chamber, then empty the water from the glass.
Battery and Charging, Around Two Hours
A sealed 1700 mAh battery powers the Peak and gives roughly 30 to 35 dabs per charge, which covers a weekend of relaxed use. A triple-click shows the level on the light band: green for full, orange for half, red for low. The band turns red with about five dabs left.
Charging runs through the USB-C port on the back of the base and takes about two hours. A USB-C to USB-C cable comes in the box, and it is longer than most. The battery is not user-replaceable, and the Peak does not support wireless charging.
The kit does not include a wall adapter. The USB-C fast charger (45W) (sold separately) fills that gap at home or in a hotel room.
Cleaning Is One Wipe with a Cotton Swab
Most days, all you need to do is wipe the warm chamber with a cotton swab after each session. Gentle circular swipes are enough. The heating element sits under the chamber floor, so light pressure protects it.
For a deeper clean, the glass soaks in 90% isopropyl alcohol for 20 minutes. It then gets rinsed with water and left to air-dry completely before it goes back on.
The chamber takes the same 20-minute soak and then air-dries fully. It is never rinsed with water. For the base, use a swab dampened with isopropyl on the thread block and air path, and keep water away from it entirely.
Empty the glass after every session and never store the Peak with water in it. The small air holes in the glass collect reclaim over time, and regular rinsing keeps them clear.
Peak vs Peak Pro 3DXL
The Peak Pro 3DXL is Puffco's flagship eRig and costs roughly twice as much. Its Bluetooth app unlocks custom temperatures from 232°C to 316°C, custom session lengths and firmware updates, and the oversized 3DXL chamber takes much larger loads. Wireless charging support and a carry case come with it.
The Peak gives you the same 360° ceramic heating at about half the price. It is smaller and lighter, roughly 10% shorter in both base and glass, and the joystick sits within easy reach of one finger. Its two horizontal percolation slits give a more open draw than the Pro's five vertical slits.
If you load large dabs or want to set an exact temperature, the Pro 3DXL is worth what it costs. For everyday dabs with no settings to adjust, the Peak gives you the same result with fewer steps.
Peak vs Proxy
The Proxy is Puffco's modular concentrate vaporizer: a heated core with its own 3D chamber that drops into interchangeable glass bodies. It slips into a pocket far more easily than any eRig, the range of glass options is extensive, and the current version adds a Bluetooth app.
The Peak arrives as a complete water-cooled rig out of the box, with fitted borosilicate glass and nothing to pair or update. The base is heavier and stands on its own, and the joystick cap stays attached on its tether. Chamber sizes are similar between the two.
If you want to carry it in a jacket, choose the Proxy. If you prefer to sit down at home for water-filtered dabs, choose the Peak.
Recommended Accessories
Right now we offer a 25% discount on all accessories when you buy any vaporizer here at MagicVaporizers. Here is a guide to what is worth adding to a Peak order.
USB-C Fast Charger (45W): The kit ships with a cable and no plug, so this is the mains adapter that completes the setup at home or in a hotel.
New Hot Knife: Rosin and live resin cling stubbornly to a cold tool. The heated ceramic tip lets sticky extracts slide straight into the chamber.
Peak Pro Travel Glass: Lower and shorter than the standard glass, so packing the Peak for a trip carries far less breakage risk.
3D Chamber: The chamber is the Peak's one consumable, and a second one lets you carry on dabbing while the other soaks and air-dries. It fits the Peak only.
Glass 2.0: Exact-fit replacement glass for the Peak, matching the fill line, percolation slits and wide mouthpiece of the original.
Peak Pro Glass 2.0: Sized for the Peak Pro and compatible with the shared Peak joint, for anyone who wants the taller Pro-style water chamber.
Warranty Information
Puffco covers the Peak with a two-year warranty on the electronic base and battery, a year longer than the industry standard. The glass and the 3D Chamber are wear parts and are not covered. All Puffco Peak vaporizers we sell are authentic Puffco products, designed in Los Angeles.
